PIXIE PEOPLE
Have you all buried your noses in lesson-books, this week? There has been so much said of examinations in the Ring lately that Letterbox Elf is trying to be in the fashion. (He loves imitating the Ring People.) This morning he was very dreamy and absorbed. "I can't be interrupted, Fairiel," he murmured, waving an airy hand. "I'm studying." "For what?" I asked. "Doorkeeper's Examination," he frowned. "When is a door J not a door?" Do you know the answer to that riddle? I wish all .the very best of luck and I hope you know the answer to every question on your examination papers. Then, when all the questions are forgotten, you will have time to plan stories and drawings for the Christmas Pages. And that reminds me that two large parcels of books have arrived for the Gift Cupboard. Thank you, "Yum Yum" and "Black Spider," "Sweet Agnes" and "Black Star," who have also sent toys and books. My love to you all, this Hallowe'en. Who is going to colour Daisy Dawn's witchery picture? ■ ■ FAIRIEL.
