A SETTLEMENT

INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE

A complete agreement was reached today in the Printing and Related, Trades industrial dispute. The appellants for a new award were the Printing Trade Federation of Workers and the respondents were the Master Printers' Federation and Newspaper Proprietors. A previous hearing of the dispute was commenced on June 25, and the proceedings were adjourned pending the decision of the Arbitration Court in regard to the question of weekly hours. The conciliation council resumed its deliberations on September 30 and continued until today.

The details of the proposed new award will be put into final form this evening and tomorrow. Mr. S. Ritchie presided at the conciliation council. The appellants were represented" by Messrs. C. H. Chapman, M.P., K. McL. Baxter (secretary and agent), J. Mclnnarney, W. A. D. Groves, E. J. Patton, P. Truscott, F. J. McCallum, and F. P. Walsh. The employers were represented by . Messrs. J. M. Hardcastle, H. Harris, A. Dennison, H. Palamountain, R. Dillon, H. E. Bell, B. C| Jacobs, and E. W. Carlkson.
