ADELAIDE, September 15. The centenary amateur and professional golf championships reached the quarter-final stage of the match play today. Besults are:— , ,_ Professionals.—A. Toogood (Tasmania) beat N. Yon Nida (Queensland), 8 and 7; R. Stewart (South Australia) beat F. McMahon (South Australia), 6 and 4; M. Smith (Victoria) beat W. Smith (South Australia), 4 and 3; G. Naismith (Victoria) beat W. Harvey (South Australia), 2 and 1. Play was marred by heavy rain and wind.
