NEW CHIEF DETECTIVE

AUCKLAND, This Day.
I Senior-Detective S. G. Hall has been appointed Chief Detective in -charge of the detective staff at Auckland in succession to Inspector J. Sweeney, who was f arewelled last , night and leaves this evening to take charge of the Wellington police district. ChiefDetective Hall joined the Police Force at Dunedin in. 1908 and was appointed a senior detective in 1933 when he was transferred from Dunedin.
