SYDNEY, September 15. The Postal Department, in view of curtailment of the Union Company's trans-Pacific service on October 22, is making arrangements for dispatch of mail matter to New York via the Aus-tiralia-London airlines . and transAtlantic shipping lines.

Thus letters posted at Sydney will reach New York in 20 days, compared with 21 days by the Matson and Union Company mail lines at present.
