FENCING MATCHES
Some of the season's last fencing contests took place last evening when the Wellington Swords Club met the Victoria College in a foil match, held at Miss Zena Clarke's gymnasium. The bouts, which were refereed by Miss Clarke, resulted in a win for the Wellington Swords Club by 16 matches to 2. The teams were as follows:—Wellington Swords Club, Mr. J. Harcourt, Dr. .C. E. Beeby, Messrs. John Standish, C. Morris, T. Wilson, and D. Messenger; Victoria College, Messrs. C. Hutton, Hull, Hornsby, Instone, and Turnbull.
• Great interest is now being taken in the forthcoming Wellington championships and; the final dance to be held next month. Following that an interprovincial match between Christchurch and InvercargiJl will take place in Invercargill, • when Miss Clarke will go isouth to act ns referee.
