THE DURBAN COLD CUP
Sir Abe Bailey, who recently won the Goodwood Cup with Cecil, secured another valuable racing trophy a lew days later, but this time the victory was achieved in South Africa, where Sir Abe's colt Archon put up a fine performance in winning the Durban Gold Cup. Mr. H. Nourse's Eccentric, one of the best handicappers in Africa, was second, and Gavelkind third. Archon, who carried Sir Abe Bailey's colours in England as a two-year-old, failed to gain a place in six outings, and was exported to South Africa in 1934.
