TODAY'S PROCEEDINGS

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. today.

Mr. R. A. Wright (Independent, Wellington Suburbs) gave notice to ask the Prime Minister if he would state the Government's intentions in regard to adjusting the superannuation of those men retired on actuarial basis by the Finance Act, 1931, in the Railway and other Departments; and if the Prime Minister was aware that the Minister of Finance had promised that the case oi railway superannuitants would be considered, and did that also include other Government Departments, and would he state when action will be taken.

The House paid tribute to the late Mr. R. Moore, a former member for Kaiapoi and of the Legislative Council, and the late Mr. F. H. Smith, a former member for Waitaki, and as a mark of respect adjourned until the evening.
