TIMARU, This Day. The South Canterbury Hunt Club's Steeplechase Meeting is being held at Washdyke under favourable conditions after a considerable amount of rain during the previous two days which made the track very heavy. The day is fairly cold, but there is a good attendance.

Results:—

Hadlow Hurdles, £80; 1J miles 4 Footwork, 9.0 (W.T.Kitto), 1; 5 Havering, 10.8, 2; 1 Look Smart, 10.8, 3. Sci\: Crash. Three-quarters of a length; four lengths. Time, 2min 57 2-ssec.

Pareora Steeplechase Handicap, £90----about 2 miles.—l Royston, 11.8 (J Hazlett), 1; 3 Cock of the North, 110 2; 2 Waikari, 11.0, 3. Scr.: Burglar' Bonny Bluff. Three lengths, five lengths. Time, 4min 24 4-ssec.
