MONOWAI'S CRUISE
After delighting passengers by short calls in beautiful Pago Pago harbour, the Monowai arrived at Apia at sp.m. on Sunday (Western Time), and sailed at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, after an enjoyable stay. Items of special interest included motor-car trips through tropical , vegetation and charming native villages. A church service was held on Sunday night, with singing of a native choir, a race meeting on Monday afternoon, and native dances and singing on Monday evening at Malifa School and the Catholic Club, the passengers being specially delighted by knife-throwing and- an exhibition dance by 40 sons of chiefs. The Monowai calls at Niuafoou today to land the'tins-can mail. ....
For driving without a licence Desmond Bezant was fined 10s and costs by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today.' Frank Andrew Martinelli' was fined 10s and costs on each of two breaches of the parking regulations.
