GROCERIES TO BRUSHES
- A distinct advance in prices ' for locally-manufactured lines has been a feature of wholesale business in Auckland during the past week, states the "Herald." The retail trade is consequently making heavy purchases of goods where costs are expected to rise, and trading conditions are brisk. The tobacco delivery for the period July 16 to July 31 will be made to both |pwn and country next Thursday. Wholesale prices of tomato sauce have' been increased by 5.t0 1i per cent, according to pack;, coffee essence has' gone up 3 per cent, honey is dearer by id per Ib, and locally-made brushes are 5 per cent, dearer, while cornbroom prices to the trade have been advanced by Is 6d per doezn.
