There 1 ; was a large ■ attendance of members and visitors, neigh.bouringf. institutes" being well represented.'•/ The' president, Mrs. Cook, was the recipient of many beautiful fldral tributes from Ohariu, Newlands, and Porirua Women's Institutes. Miss ;Arnyi -Kane gave-"ail interesting speech, and Mrs. Hume congratulated the ■branch; .Small- tokens- of - appreciation were presented to the retiring president, 'secretary,';; and treasurer. ■ Mrs. Mudge. was' congratulated on winning the silver cup for playwriting. The birthday, cake,. suitably iced and de-1 corated. with four was the object of much admiration. Social items I by the drama 'and . glee circles and Mrs... McKeown were heartily applauded.
