ENGINEER RESIGNS

I » ! FROM CITY SERVICE Mr. F. N. Thompson, M.1.C.E., M.N.Z.Soc.C.E., assistant engineer in charge of street works, last night tendered his resignation to the City Council as he is taking up private practice. Mr. Thompson, who was previously with the Public Works Department, and was for some years district engineer for the Department in Hawke's Bay, joined the city engineer's department in 1928, and has had charge of practically all the major developmental works carried out in the city. Latterly he has had charge of relief work as well as street works and other construction works in the city. He served in the war with the New Zealand Tunnelling Company-from 1915 -to-1918*
