. INVERCARGILL, This Day.1 The death of• Mr: William Hinchey, chairman of the Southland. Power : Board, occurred today at the age of 71. !Mr. Hinchey was born in Inverc'argill and had a long record in public life He was several •times Mayor of Blurt and chairman of. the Bluff Harbtfui1 Board. For several years h«- was chairman of the Southland Power Board and he held many other public offices. Mr.- Hinchey /unsuccessfully contested the -Wallace seat against tiie Hon. Adam Hamilton at thY last General. Election. He is survived by" a widow, a son, and two daughters. '
