(By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON'N., This Day.' ■ Splendid conditions were offering at Awapuni this morning when horses competing in the local fixture were galloped. The majority preferred the course proper, on which the flags were on the' extreme ou.tside. Dawning Light slipped over five furlongs in ,lmin 6sec, after leaving the first two behind in 25jsec. Waitohu and War Lap were . associated over five furlongs, covered in Imin 6 2-5 sec,- the first two: taking: 26 l-ssec. Happy Hunting and La Crown ran half- a mile in 52sec, and Muggins shaded Alloa at the end of five l furlongs, run in imin'6 2-ssec. Dungavin, in the straight, went two furlongs in 25Jsec. Jovial Prince went an easy half-mile in 56sec. The g Cup candidates, Tout le Monde and rf ßound' Score, went seven furlongs in Imin 34sec. The • first four .took 53 4-ssec. Treasure Hunt was clear of^ Merry Night at the end of six furlongs, covered in lmin 20 ,4-ssec. Kitty Quinn, beat Tiger Bill over. five furlongs in lmin Bsec. Invoice ran ah easy three furlongs in'4osec, and Round Up and Barley Almond were together, with Vonia Park thrice lengths back, at the end of six, covered in lmin 20 l-ssec. The first three took 39 2-ssec.

Symcoriy ran her first two furlongs in 24 l-ssec, and five'in'lmin 4 l-ssec, but slowed up over the last half-fur-long. Nevertheless, it' was the best five of the morning. :

Black Fox shaded Mirth' at the end of hall a mile in 53 2-ssec.. Battle Pomp finished better than King's Lancer after running ' six furlongs in lmin 21 4-ssec, the. first three in 39 2-ssec. Summerhill was too good for Princess La Jean at the end of seven furlongs, covered in lmin 39sec, the first four in 55 l-ssec. Bodyline, with a light weight up, ran six furlongs in lmin 18 ,l-ssec, the first three" in 38sec.

After breakfast, Cyclopean lqft five furlongs'behind in lmin 5 2-ssec, the first two in 26sec. Sweet Music ran

half a mile on the plough in 54sec. Frugal jumped away at the six-fur-long post, picking up Widden. at the half-mile. Frugal ran from the five to the three-furlong post in 25 4rssec, and the full journey in Imin 19 3-ssec.
