FRIDAY'S FEILDING SALE

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report a small entry in all departments at the Feilding sale on Friday. Fat wethers sold at about late rates, while fat ewes for the most part were slightly above recent sales, but the entry seemed just a little above i;equirements, and the last few pens did not meet with such good competition. Store cattle brightened up, no doubt as the result of the recent good rains, and a rise of about ls-6d was recorded on last sale. Store sheep also showed an appreciation. STOiyG SHEEP SELL FREELY. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report just average yardings of store sheep, with a h,eavy penning of fat wethers, ewes, and lambs. The store sheep entry sold freely when taking into consideration the quality submitted. iFatvsheep of all classes sold at slightly above recent rates,, with an excellent clearance. Fat cattle were yarded in average numbers. Run-bred cows were not keenly sought after, whereas dairybred sorts sold freely. A fair yarding of run-bred store cattle was submitted, and for these competition was keen; with an excellent clearance at auction. The" New Zealand Farmers' Co-opera-tive Distributing Co., Ltd., report that at. the Feilding sale entries were light in all sections with the exception of fat cattle. Fat sheep sold at late rates. There were only 2-tooth ewes yarded in the store pens, and for these the bidding was quite keen. Fat cattle sold on a par with last week. The bidding for the. station cattle was quite ke«n, and some good sales were made. There was very little interest taken in the dairy cattle, of which there was a short supply. Fat sheep: Fat ewes, lls 6d, 12s 6d, 13s, 14s 6d, 16s; fat wethers, 20s, 21s, 225, 22s 6d; fat lambs, 20s to 265. Dairy cattle: Springing heifers, £2 10s to £4 10s; cows in milk, £2 ss. CATTLE PRICES /IMPROVE. « Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that just a fair yarding in all sections came to hand. There was a nominal entry of fat sheep* with prices^ for hoggets and wethers meeting good competition but fat ewes eased a little. Only a few pens of store sheep met a good sale at recent rates. In the cattle section, beef sold well'to a good demand and prices for finished cattle appreciated. We sold heavy fat Polled Angus cows up to £7 12s. A good yarding of station cattle was offered to a keen inquiry. With recent rains and prospects, of good feed, prices improved on late rates. Dairy cattle and yearling! Jersey heifers met a dull sale.
