LOUIS WINS AGAIN
TERRIFIC RIGHT TO JAW
UZCUDUN'S FACE SPLIT
NEW YORK, December 14. Joe Louis continued his sensational ring career in Madison Square Garden by scoring a technical knock-out against Paolirio Uzcudun after two minutes 30 seconds of the fourth round of a scheduled 15-round bout. In his thirteen years' fighting it is the first knock-out suffered by the rugged Basque, and a record indoor crowd of 20,000 paid 128,000 dollars to see the phenomenal negro pound out another victory, bringing him so much closer to the heavyweight championship. The bout was not particularly exciting, as actually most. of the fighting was in the last fifteen seconds before the referee stopped hostilities. In the firs^ three rounds Louis angled for an opening which he found in the fourth round, and literally finished his opponent with a single blow. It was a terrific right to the jaw; which toppied the Basque and sent him flat to the floor with the whole left side of his face split. Nevertheless he heroically pulled himself to his feet, But Louis moved in and landed two more blows on his totally helpless opponent, upon which the referee signalled the end of the fight. Uzcudun weighed 2071b and Louis 200Jlb. ■
