KARU PUTS BACK
Alter leaving Wellington at about 6.30 p.m. yesterday, the Union Company's new coastal freighter Karu was s?en returning. Speculation was rife as to what had occurred, but it was ascertained that the sudden return had been to land a seaman, E. Ardrey, who had had the third finger of his left hand crushed by a case when shifting cargo. He was taken to th«; hospital by the Free Ambulance, and the Karu sailed again for Nelson Shortly after 8 p.m. :
