ANTARCTIC SEARCH
MISSING FLYERS
TRIBUTE TO AUSTRALIANS
NEW YORK, December 8.
The -Australian Government's contemplated search for Mr. Lincoln Ellsworth and Mr. Hallick-Eenyon, news of which was printed here over the weekend, has begun to asrouse keen interest and appreciation.
Mr. Stefansson, as orae of the committee with which Ms. Ellsworth before his departure left instructions for his ultimate rescue ir* the event of mishap, informed the Australian Associated Press agency" that he had had in mind calling upon aid frjom Sir Douglas Mawson. "Of all men* Australians and Norwegians are the lest suited' for such an expedition tay their experiences," he said. "This undertaking is comparable to the northern nations' search for General Nabile, the Italian. It is in the best tradition of international co-operation. It is very gratifying that men like Mawson are advising the Australian Government, and that Sir Hubert Wffldns Will have charge from the Wystt Earp. I know that these men, aifled by the' Royal Australian Air Force, will do everything that can be done. What Australians do they do •well."
