"WHITE HORSE INN"
MANAGER ARRIVES FROM
SYDNEY
After a run of almost two years in Australia, the spectacular stage production "White Horse Inn" is shortly to entertain theatregoers in New Zealand, beginning at Auckland, where it is to be the Christmas attraction. It will introduce the revolving stage in New Zealand for the first time. Mr. Stanley Grant, manager of the company, arrived by the Monowai from Sydney yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Grant said that "White Horse Inn" was a production that required several days to get ready, and for that reason he had brought over technicians and others in the Monowai Tvho would be going straight to Auckland. Among the principals of the company were Romola Hansen, Marie Conan (English soubrette), Miriam Lester, Herbert Browne, Alfred Frith, Don Nicol, Colin Crane, and Alban Mack.
" 'White Horse Inn' is the most expensive and spectacular production ever brougnt to Australia or New Zealand," said Mr. .Grant. "The diameter of the revolving stage is 32ft, and no matter where we produce the show we have to build the main stage out about 10ft."
"White Horse Inn" is to be produced at Auckland; Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin, and also at some of the larger provincial centres. The Wellington season is to open approximately on January 29. s
