CITIZENS' DAY NURSERY

The very, young obviously do not consider a Christmas party a matter to be treated lightly if a full measure of pleasure is to be^derived from it and justice done to the unusually palatable fare provided on such an occasibn.

Intense and dignified concentration was the expression registered on the faces of the babies, who were entertained at the Cambridge Terrace Citizens' Day Nursery's party yesterday afternoon, as they sat in tiny chairs, with frivolous paper caps perched on their heads, at a long low table laden with good things and a Christmas tree as a centre-piece.. Having marched around the building singing and performing a "haka" for the entertainment of the grown-ups before tea, they no doubt considered that, pleasant as such entertainments usually are, it was rather a waste of time on such an occasion when the really important business of the party was waiting to be attended to. However, they spared time during the feast to sing a delightful Christmas greeting to the visitors. Paper streamers hung on the walls
