The Dunedin Jockey Club's Spring Meeting,- which opens tomorrow and concludes on Saturday, promises to be the most successful the club has had for some years. The McLean Stakes, the first real test for the two-year-olds in the South Island, lias drawn a field of fourteen youngsters, five of whom competed in the John Grigg Stakes at Ashburton! and the remainder of whom will be making their first appearance. Practically all prominent South Island^ stables are represented, and the race promises to be most interesting.. ; With a continuation ■of the present spell of fine weather the track will be hard and fast.
