A young woman ' whose name was suppressed was admitted- to probation for twelve months for the .theft of clothing valued at £7 6s 6d at Christchurch on August 12. -For stealing 12s 6d at Dunedin on August 6 she was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within twelve months. . .
Henry George Thomas; a' labourer, aged 30, who is at present serving six months' imprisonment for theft at Palmerston North, pleaded guilty, to stealing a bicycle valued at £7 on May 3, a suit valued at £8 10s on July 22, and a suit valued at1 £4' 14s 6d on July. 24. On,.' each of the-first two charges he was sentenced- to four months' imprisonment, and on the third charge he was convicted and ordered to ; come up for. sentence if called upon within twelve months.
Edmond Norman Connolly, a labour-, er, aged 24, was charged with breaking and entering the house of Lucy Adeline Solomon in Taranaki Street on July 24, and stealing Bs, and breaking and: entering the house of Louise Lucas in. Ngatiawa Street,- Nelson, on June 4, and stealing jewellery ;valued at £49 ss. He was remanded to appear at Nelson on October. 11. . •
