MERCANTILE LEAGUE

A decision was made by the Wellington Mercantile Cricket League's management committee, last night that competitions be commenced on October 19. It was decided that at least two A grade-games be played at' Athletic Park each Saturday, snd that other A grade games be played, on the following grounds: . Newtown Park, Wakefield Park, Kilbirnie, and Hospital (Porirua). The grounds committee reported that in reply to its application lor 33 wickets the parks and; reserves department could allocate only'3l wickets. It was decided to write to Burch and Co. pointing out that there were not enough grounds to accommodate other teams this year.
