He came ■is: out to New Zealand with his parents ,-nin 1876; beginning his education in ' England and finishing it at the Wei- , ; lington Boys' College. irri The late Mr. Leckie was a foundation member of the Wellesley Club, and ~, of the Wellington Golf Club, and one ir .j of the earliest members of the Star ....-Boating Club, A noted runner, he was r;jc a member of the Amateur Athletic Association and of the old Athletic v , Itygby Football Club and a Wellington '. representative Kugby player. • ~'. Mr. Leckie was one of the keenest '. '; old- boys of Wellington College, of which he had written the history which ~, received the most favourable com..^'ments as a work showing remarkable ;, accuracy and painstaking research. The '^ work was divided into two parts, the ; I first of which, covering the earUest ' days ol the institution and its history, .; was recently published. !: 'Mr. Leckie is survived by a widow, three sons, Messrs. "Biel" Leckie, of yW.D. and. H.O. Wills, Dunedin, J. B. ~rF Leckie, of the Bank of Australasia, a Upper Hutt, and T. W. M. Leckie, of = Levin and Co., and two daughters, Mrs. Julian. Foster, Singapore, . and Mrs. -^ Rewi Murray, of Marlborough.
