DEMOCRAT NOMINEES

When the list of Democrat candidates for the General Election was announced on October 1 the names of' a number of candidates who would be contesting Auckland city,seats were mentioned, but at that time the electorates for which they would stand had not' been decided. Three of these, seats have now been allocated as follows:— Auckland- -West: Mr- Joseph A. Govan.' - Auckland Central: Mr. C. R. Dodd. Grey Lynn: Mr. Hilton B. Arthur. It had previously been announced that Mrs. S/M. Milne would be the Democrat'candidate for Auckland West, but Mrs. Milne has retired from the contest for health reasons.
