ON WINGATUI TRACKS
SCHOOL BY CHRYSOLOCY

Yesterday's drying wind had the effect of hardening the Wingatui tracks, and for the fast work this morning the outside of the course proper, with trestles wide out, was available. The two-year-olds were allowed to gallop three feet out from the rails.
Silver Slipper was only cantered. Hororata and Tail Light, from the same stable, were le' off with similar tasks.
Grand Finale was going well within himself all the way. over half a mile on the course proper in lmin 1 l-ssec. Sungem ran six furlongs, the last halfmile in 59sec. Paladino was holding his own with Great Empire at the end of half a mile in 54sec.
Toreador appeared to be moving short in a sprint over three furlongs on the tan in 3flsec. Lady Kate and the Guineas candidate Waltham finished about equal at the end of six furlongs in lmin 23 3-ssec, but both were inclined to stop over the last half-furlorig. •
Twilight Song, looking very light, was sprinted three furlongs on the tan in 38sec. Quietly was let off with cantering exercise. Worship was going better over the last two of seven furlongs than Redolent, "though they finished on even terms in lmin 39 1-5 sec. Drinkup beat Invader easily over half a mile in 54 3-ssec. .
Tizzy and Kamal Pasha .finished on terms at the end of five furlongs in lmin Bsec. Eamo easily accounted for Salmo Salarover six furlongs injlmin1 22 l-ssec. Darien beat Sunny Jean over five furlongs in lmin lOsec, but! was showing; signs of lameness on pulling up. Joy Boa and Braw Lass! finished together after running half a mile on the tan in 55 4-ssec.
Chrysology jumped four .hurdles well, having plenty of pace on at all except the last , hurdle and getting away much faster on landing.
Royal Pat and Link Up finished together at the end of six furlongs in lmin 25 3-ssec. Viking was let off with long slow work. He looks better
for liis good gallop last Saturday. Linguist was also let off with long' slow work. • -'
Wonderful and Superex were companions in a spin over six furlongs, but were not out on .a time-making mission. Green Boa beat Vantoon over three furlongs kon the tan in 38 3-ssec. Made Money and Songbird finished together at the end of five furlongs on the tan in lmin ssec. New Note took lmin 7sec to run five furlongs on the same track, but was easing up over the last half furlong. The two two-year-olds Asset and Double Gift ran half a mile from a standing start in 52-l-ssec. Asset began the more smartly and led to the turn into the straight where she ran very wide, Double Gift finishing straight and getting up to win by a head. ■ ■• ■ ■
