MR. D. G. SULLIVAN'S WORK
RELIEF OF DISTRESS

CHRISTCHURCH, October 7. Tributes to the work done by th» Mayor, Mr. D. G. Sullivan, MJ>.,' $a the relief of distress were paid by several prominent citizens today when, at a gathering in the City Council Chambers, Mr. Sullivan was presented with an illuminated aadress'in recognition of those services.
The presentation was made by Archbishop Julius, who said citizens felt deeply that the Mayor should learn to a definite way how they appreciated has services for the distressed Other speakers were the Anglican Bishop of Christchurch, the Rt Rev. Dr. C. West-Watson; the Roman CathoUc Bishop of Christchurch, the Rt. Rev. Dr. M. J. Brodie; and Mr George Harper, all of whom warmly praised the work of Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan in [ leading the community in efforts to raise funds to relieve widespread hardship.
