APPOINTED JUDGE
MR. WILFRID GREENE, K.C.
LONDON, October 6.
Mr. Wilfrid Greene, K.C., prominent as a leader-of Privy Council and House of Lords appeals, and chairman of the recent Beet Sugar Committee, has been appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal. I
He relinquishes a practice with an income of £40,000 a year, believed to be the highest earned at the Bar today, for a Judge's salary of £5000.
Mr. Wilfrid Greene has been standing counsel to Oxford University since 1926. He was born in 1883, and educated at Westminster School and Oxford, where he had a distinguished career. He was1 called to the Bar at the Inner Temple I in 1908. During the war he served as a staff officer in France and Italy, being finally attached to the British section of the Supreme War Council. j
