Tho depression which was crossing the Dominion yesterday has passed away eastwards and barometers hare risen with the approach of an anticyclone from tho Tasmau Sea. Strong north-west to west winds to gales blew yesterday, but during last night a eeueral change to south-westerly or southerly took place. The weather has been changeable: and squally with rain at times in most districts and a decrease (v temperatures has accompanied the southerly change. This morning showers were still reported In various parts of the country, but the winds were less strong than they have been and there were indications of an improvement setting In.
