Il will be observed that no less than ten teams reached A grade standard, 67.50, while of the remainder twelve "attained the Intermediate standard of CU.OO, ana ten the B grade of 64.50, leaving only eight teams which can be classed as C grade. The best average for a ladles' team was that of Petone Ladles, 66.29, while the highest ladles' team score goes to Hutt Ladles, 474.
No less than nine teams broko 480 during tho season, while of the remainder fourteen made scores of 470 or over and nine 4GO or over. ' There were eight teams which did not make a score of 460. These figures are on a much higher piano than last year, proving once again the higher standard of shooting which has obtained of late. RECORD OF POSSIBLES. During the season 99 possibles wero secured In Inter-club matches. ;0f these there wero 52 In A grade. 10 Intermediate, 27 In B grade, and 10 lv C grade. Tlndle (2). J. K. DavieS, L. Brown. SEASON'S AGGREGATE. Tlie tie In the season's aggregate between L. Hare (Hutt), T. Graham (Christchurch W.M.C.), and J. D. Edmonds (Sumner-Redcllils) resulted in a win for Ham with 99, the other two securing 38 -In tho shoot-off. The distribution of the three leading prizes is L. Hare (Hutt), 847 and 09, £2 and Messrs. Turner and Le Brun's Cup; T. Graham (Chrlstcliurch W.M.C.) and J. D. Edmonds (Sumner-Bed-cllffs), 847 and 98, £1 each. AOTEA CLUB. The championship season concluded at tile end of September, the winners of the various events being as follows:—Club championship, It. H. Hunt; runner-up, B. Mottram. Handicap aggregate, G. Scambary; runner-up, M. O'Grady. Ladles' handicap aggregate, Mrs. Dawson; runner-up, Mrs. Hearne. Algar Cup, F. Harris. Congreve Cup, Ist quarter, G. Scambary;-2na quarter, K. H. Hunt. The club will continue activities until the last Wednesday in October. The only possible was srored by W. G. Scambary. Sixty-nines were secured by T. Goodall, R. H. Hunt, P. Stewart, P. Stephens, and W. G. Scambary. In the ladles' section Mrs. Dawson was top with G9 and Miss Smith next with 68. CARTERTON CLUB. The Carterton Miniature Rifle Club held the closing stioot of the season on October 2, when there was a full attendance of members. At the conclusion of the shooting trophies won during the season were presented by the president' (Mr; H. MeyricU), wlio complimented the winners on their line performances. The prize list was as follows:— Club championship (Press Cup), R. Porter with 1498 ex 1500 (a record), 1; K. Brazendale (trophy), 1489, 2; K. Taucher, 1488, 3. Ladles' aggregate (Gladful Cup): Miss I. Fisher, 1; Miss .1. Bannln (trophy), 2. Boys' aEE*e&ate (E. H. Hawker and Son's trophy): F. Hill and L. Renall tied and in the shoot-off tied again with 08 each. In a further shoot-off Hill proved tho winner by one point. Section trophies: Trophies donated by Messrs. J. A. B. Lawrence, H. Keltic, E. R. Wilklns, A. F. Stubbs, and H. Moyrick were won by R. Porter, R. Hawker, K. Porter, W. Press, and K. Brazendale respectively. Hearty votoa of thanks were a, C corded tho club secretary (Mr, C. I. Ds Lacey), handlcapper (Mr. It. A. Copeland), and the ladles for their untiring efforts with .the supper arrangements. "EVENING POST" CLUB. The final shoot for the club championship was concluded last night. The winner, Mr. H. Nickless, only- dropped ten points out of a possible 1330, and nnlshed up with a good average of 69.48. thereby creating a. new club record. . The ladles' championship was won by Mrs. H. Nlcklcss, who has had her most successful season, with an average of 67.87, thereby being the first holder of the cup donated by Mr. V.'. J. Blundell. In the ten-shot own start competition Miss Stevens secured her first possible. K. MacDowall was the only other member to get a possible. This competition closes next Monday. Miss Rublch and J. Tindle are the holders of the Nickless Buttons. The winners of the September competition and club handicap aggregate will b& made known next week. The result of the match with the "Whangarel Advocate" will be known next Tuesday. HARBOUR BOARD CLUB. The presentation of prizes will be hold on Friday evening on the club range.
