PLIMMERTON MEETING

Miss Amoore presided over the monthly meeting of the Plimmerton Institute. Several visitors from other institutes were present, including Mrs. Murwood, Tawa Flat, who demonstrated cane tray-making." Many of the members had brought the necessary materials, and were able to proceed, under; Mrs. Murwood's instruction, to make trays and small baskets.

Arrangements were made to hold a flower show and exhibition of work during November, when it is hoped to have a very interesting and comprehensive display of flowers and also of members' work of, various descriptions. '■ .

In answer to the Health Camp campaign appeal, a .donation is to be sent immediately. .

Mrs. Hill gave a piano solo, which was very much enjoyed.

Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Garty and McDermid. Votes of thanks were given to Mrs. Murwood for her interesting demonstration, and to the hostesses for presiding at afternoon tea.
