Schofield as passenger, who.left BlufJ on September 23 on the 400-mile trip to Christchurch reach-ad Timaru at 5.10 o'clock this evening, having covered 300 miles in 15 days. Lukey hopes to complete the trip in 20 days. He aims at reaching Christchurch at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and appearing at a sports fixture. If he accomplishes the task he will have averaged 20 miles per day for the entire trip. Going up to Waimate was very hard on account of the loose gravel, and the trip was much more arduous than the recent North Island undertaking.
