FEILDING CATTLE FAIR.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on the Feilding cattle fair:—A good yarding of store and station cattle met with keen competition from a large attendance of the public. The company had a total clearance under the hammer at prices in advance of late rates. The entry of springing heifers and dairy cows was not very large but they met with a keen demand at late rates. Medium springing heifers made to £4 15s, and dairy cows made up to £4 10s. The fat cattle entry •was also small, and sold at late rates. Boner cattle were on a par with last sale.
The sheep entry was smaller than usual, the sale being more or less on an off day owing to the large cattle entry. Fat sheep sold at about late rates. Quality was not as good as usual. A small entry of store sheep sold freely. Good store wether hoggets sold close to fat prices, while medium ewe hoggets sold up to 28s 3d. Wether hoggets, 19s to 22s 3d; ewe hoggets, 27s to 28s 3d; fat hoggets (shorn), 19s to 20s; fat hoggets (woolly), 21s to 23s 3d; fat shorn ewes, 13s lOd to 15s.
