PALMERSTON N:, This Day.

Two young girls who were discovered in a Chinese laundry when an opium raid was made by the police last week appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S;M., yesterday, charged with being idle and disorderly. Both were 18 years of age. The one deemed to be the ringleader was sentenced to twelve months' detention in the Wellington Borstal Institute, and the other was admitted to twelve months' probation, the Magistrate warning her to stay at home.
