UPPER HUTT COUNCIL

The Mayor (Mr. A. J. McCurdy) presided at the meeting of the Upper Hult Borough Council last evening. A request was received from residents for the planting of Victoria Street, and it was decided to do this. The borough inspector (Mr. C. E. 11. Yarnell) stated in his report that one case of infectious disease had been notified and the usual precautions taken to prevent spread of infection. Otherwise the general health of the community was good. It was noticeable that.cyclists were to a measure conforming with the regulations with regard to lights. The Wellington Hospital' Board advised that Upper Hutt's proportion of the 1935-36 levies was £883 9s. The Town Clerk (Mr. R. C. Major) reported that for the three months ended June 30 the receipts this year were £1387, as compared with £1278 for the corresponding period last year..
