Winds.—Southerly to easterly north of i'arewell Spit and Cape Campbell; strong about Cook Strait but decreasing and otherwise moderate; elsewhere light and variable, but later tending northerly and gradually freshening. Barometer.—Little movement; a \ falling tendency shortly. Seas. —Kather rough on parts of the cast coast north of Kaikoura; otherwise smooth to moderate. Weather.—Mainly fair to fine, but a few scattered showers still likely in the northern and east coast districts of the North Island.
