MASTERTJON, July 17.
A large and enthusiastic meeting of (' '.egates representing i he Reform and United Parties throughout the Wairarapa electorate was ..held at Carterton this evening to select a candidate to support the National Government at the forthcoming election. .
Messrs. J. W. Car d and H. F. Toogood were the candidates, and after theyhad address! xl the meeting a ballot was taken. This resulted in the selection of Mr. Card.
The meeting was £ .resided over by Mr. D. Ardell, Dominion organiser of the National Federati on, who, stated that Mr. Card's nomination was now endorsed by the Dominion executive.
