POPPY DAY APPEALS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. The final figures for the Poppy Day appeal in North Taranaki make the total £561, compared with £568 last year. The gross receipts of Poppy Day sales in the Wairarapa this year were £266 14s 6d, £159 5s 3d of which came from the Masterton district, reports "The Post's" Masterton correspondent. The total amount shows an increase of £26 5s lOd over last year's receipts. The money is to be disbursed for the relief of returned soldiers during the winter.
