DEMANDS OF THE AIR
'MINISTRY'S' CIRCULAR
MAXIMUM OUTPUT DESIRED
TWO YEARS' PROGRAMME
United Tress Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. , (Received May 10, 11.20 a.m.) LONDON, May 9. The Air Ministry has circularised aircraft aero-engine contractors in connection with the expansion of the Royal Air Force, asking them to accelerate the completion of their existing contracts in order to ensure that they will be prepared to tender for. any new requirements. The Air Ministry has also asked manufacturers to inform the Ministry what foreign civil orders they propose to undertake before committing themselves thereto. A leading manufacturer declares that the Air Ministry's letter asks: "What- is your maximum output?" suggesting that sufficient orders will be available to keep the works at full pressure in producing military aircraft for at least two years.
