A CORRECTION
In our issue of April 30 last we published a telegram received through the Press Association from Nelson stating that an appeal by Mr. Maurice Vivyan Richard Sterling Maxwell against the judgment of the Stipendiary Magistrate convicting the appellant of the offence of frequenting a street in Nelson for the purpose of betting had been allowed by Mr. Justice Kennedy. The paragraph was headed ""Prisoner's Appeal Upheld by Judge." We desire to make it plain that Mr. Maxwell was not at any time imprisoned and we express to Mr. Maxwell our regret that in the summary which a heading affects the word prisoner should have been used.
Mr. K. McLennan, organising manager of the New Zealand National Eisteddfod, received the following cable this morning from Mr. David Lloyd George: "Heartiest greetings to New Zealand National Eisteddfod, 1935. I wish it all success."
