LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
; .An; enjoyable afternoon- was spent by. the.riiembers of the Island Bay-Ber-hampore branch of the League- of M^othe;rs recently in the Masonic Halll Mrs. Hindmarsh presided, and repre.sentacives from the Rotorua aiid Ka^ rori branches of the L.O.M. were welcomed. An induction service was held, and six members were received, into full membership, and one was received by transfer, Notification of theJttother's Day; service was given, and members were urged to attend. ~ Violin solos by Mrs. Meacham and vocal solos'by Mrs. Wainwright'were thoroughly enjoyed by the members, and they, together with the accompaniste, were accorded a vote of thankg and appreciation. ..'-.-■: " Mrs. Hindmarsh introduced the speaker, Mrs. Ernest Dawson. Mrs. Dawson spoke of the value of league meetings, likening them to powerhouses where members left all their vfqrries outside, to enable them to be free to renew, refresh, and store up .for-themselves ideals and ideas, which they could radiate later in their home circle. She also urged them, not to be too engrossed in housework, and sol have no time to enter into and share the interests of the family; Mrs. DawS°^ Wa« givena wa?m v?te of thanks. Mrs. Hay donated an organdi throwover worked';n league colours, and the members gratefuly acknowledged
