Merinos registered a 10 to 12% per cent, advance on closing rates at the MarchApril series, aud crossbreds were 10 per cent.' higher. . ' ' '
'"'Xlio quantity submitted'was 7800 bales, including 3971 bales o£ New. Zealand. About 7020 bales of Australian and New Zealand-were sold.
The wool offered was a good representative selection.
There was a crowded attendance and brisk Home and Continental competition ensued. '
Compared with March closing rates, best merinos,, both greasy and. scoured advanced-in- price'by 10 per cent-.' to 15 per.,cant. Other descriptions advanced 10. per cent, and crossbreds were an all round 10 per- cent, dearer X™ Zealand slipo, halfbred lambs, .Ol'M, Belfast," sold 14% d highest 14d average. '
