MUNICIPAL HOUSING.
'Speaking at Miramar, Mr. T. ForVyth stated that while he was opposed to a municipal housing scheme, he would strongly'support any proposed building schemes whether by Government ,or private enterprise. The City Council hSd about 275 acres of good building land available y for this purpose,' which could be utilised in any such scheme brought forward. Referring to the statement ..made by Mr. R. Semple that he (Mr. Forsyth) had been hostile to the work of a council housing committee (appointed in February, 1928, and the last meeting of which was held in May, ,1928),,Mr.-Forsyth said that as a; matter of fact hevvasneither a member of that committee, nor of the City Council during the years. 1925 to 1929.
