PENLINGTON —SUSCOMBE.

On Monday evening last St. John's Church, Willis Street, was the scene of a charming wedding, when Ruby Ann, elder7 daughter of Mr. Edmund Suscotnbe, Oriental Bay, was married to George Felgate, son of Mrs. Penlington and the late Mr. G. Penlington, of Christchurch. The Rev. S. B. Kit roy was the officiating minister.

The bride wore a frock, of eggshell blue needlerun' lace made on straight lines-with a slight train/and long sleeves. Her veil of 'misty -blue tulle fell from a coronet of pearis and orange blossom. She carried an arm sheaf of deep cream gladioli and roses. The only bridesmaid, her sister Marjory, wore a frock of tea-rose mnriette, made on similar, dines., to that of the bride, and a large leghorn hat. Her aim sheaf was of deep apricot and pjnk gladioli and roses. Mr. Barnard Way field was best man, and Messrs. M. Bennie and B. Clarke ushers.

About fifty" relatives and close friends of .the bride and bridegroom were received at the Palm Lounge in the Hotel St George by Mrs. W. H. Woodward, of Invercargill, aunt of the bride, wearing a smart black ring velvet frock relieved with white, and a small black hat Mrs.-Penlington, the bridegroom's mother, was also , to black. .Both carried bouquets- of roses. ' . ' The bride and groom left on a motoring tour of the north, the bride wearing a tailored suit of navy tweed, and smart hat, shoes, and bag of navy. Following the reception some 150 friends were entertained, by Mr. Suscombe.
