CHARLIE PURDY DIVORCED
SYDNEY, April 17.
The professional boxer, Charles Francis Purdy, was granted a divorce today on the ground of constructive desertion. \ Purdy gave evidence that on the'night of his wedding his wife threw a glass at him and inflicted a severe gash in his forehead. Five nights later he found his wife under. the' influence of liquor. When he remonstrated she threw crockery at him. He attended hospital on five occasions due }.o her violence.
