FOOKES—BARKER,
The marriage took place at St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral recently of Cassie Florence, third daughter of Mrs. I. K. Barker, Palmerston North, to Graham Rochfort, second son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Fookes, New Plymouth. The Rev. Canon James performed the ceremony.
The bride, escorted by Mr. R. Glennie, was gowned in a sleeveless frock of cream organdie net, the bodice being pin-tucked and tight-fitting to the knees, with square neckline outlined with hand-made-pink georgette roses and tiny leaves of palest green. The skirt, which was also trimmed with roses, was cut with fullness in- Vandykes to form a long billowy train. A heavy satin slip cut with a long train and rows of narrow frills at the hemline added beauty to the frock. A plain tulle Veil fastened to a small diamante halo was worn. The bouquet was of palest pink and cream roses. Miss Juliet Christophers .was the only bridesmaid, and wprc a cross-cut sleeveless gown 'of Ipearl-tinted satin with cowl'front, clipped each side to form a square neckline/ The skirt was cut on slender lines widening at the back to form' a train., She carried a I sheaf of gladioli in pink tones and wore la silver halo. ' i '' / | The best man was Mr. E. J. Insull. The reception was held at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. Barker, wearing a delphinium blue georgette ensemble with cream hat relieved-with blue velvet, and carrying a posy of pink carnations, received the guests, assisted -by the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Fookes, who wore a frock of brown lace and a brown hat, and carrying a posy in autumn tints.
