RELIEF TO PASTURES

RAIN IN WAIKATO

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

HAMILTON, This Day. As a result of intermittent rain throughout last night the pastures in the Waikato* district have been relieved, but considerably more rain is imperative to bring the pastures back from the parched state of the past several months. Light rain fell on Saturday, and last night's fall will assist in certain areas. The rain was insufficient, however, 'to stop the swamp fires, which still continue to do much damage to the pasture land in the district. ■
