PREPARATIONS FOR RETURN
LOADING AT LITTLE AMERICA
LITTLE AMERICA, February 3.
Despite adverse conditions, considerable progress^ was-made in reloading the expedition's vessels; The second load was successfully carried to the Jacob Ruppert* by the Bear of Dakland.
All of importance that remains are the four aeroplanes and certain scientific instruments, notably the magnetic and meteorological apparatus, with which observations will be made until the last minute.' <
Removing the aeroplanes is a big problem as the Bear of Oakland is not equipped to handle them. Admiral Byrd said that if possible he hoped to berth, the Jacob Ruppert In any event, he hopes to depart on Feliruary 7. .*■ . ~,... . .
