LONDON, February 4.
Protest meetings against the new system of unemployment assistance and the means test were held throughout the country at the weekend. It is estimated that 300,000 men, women, and children attended indoor and outdoor demonstrations., Thirty thousand marched in procession: from Monmouthshire industrial valleys to atteiid'a protest demonstration at Pontys>ol Park. ;..■•■;.
• If is expected that Mr. Oliver Stanley, Minister of Labour, on "behalf of the Government, will announce action in the House of Commons tomorrow to remove hardships. ■
